Preston G. Hanner
Preston Hanner was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma as the eldest of three sons to a school teacher and Tulsa County Juvenile Court administrator. Upon graduation from Booker T. Washington High School, he attended the University of Oklahoma, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After undergrad, he worked as a medical recruiter in the Dallas metroplex, placing medical providers in both urban and rural medical practices throughout the United States. Preston then attended and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa, where he served as Editor of the Tulsa Law Review and graduated with honors. Prior to creating Shears Powell and Hanner, Preston worked as an associate and eventually partner for fifteen years in a downtown Oklahoma City firm, handling the defense of workers’ compensation claims for several private and public employers and insurance carriers in the region.
While at the University of Tulsa, Preston met his best friend and wife, Megan, who practices family medicine with Norman Regional Health Systems in south Oklahoma City. Preston and Megan currently reside in Newcastle with their two children, Jackson and Sophia. He is on the vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City and assists St. Crispin’s Camp and Conference Center with fundraising and legal matters. When not engaged in the practice of law, Preston enjoys traveling, supporting his wife’s medical practice, participating in his children’s extra-curricular activities, exercising, and spending time socializing with family and friends.
